Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Ubud

During our trip to Bali we hired a personal tour guide to show us around the island and take us to some of the best attractions in the area. At the end of our day tour, we stopped at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. This was definitely an experience I have never had before. Our tour guide was like the Monkey Whisperer, he would feed them and had them sit where he asked. It made for some great photo opportunities and was a great experience to share in this sanctuary. The monkeys are not in cages and are free to explore the area as they please, it makes you experience them in their natural habitat. The property is very beautiful and is well kept by its keepers, it is in a large area which is easy to get around and not too crowded.

Nice place to visit. But be aware - don't look at the monkeys' eyes, they became aggressive and can attack. We weren't notified about this and the first monkey attacked us. Also I wouldn't recommend this place for little kids, you never know what to expect from monkeys. But otherwise - it was interesting experience to see so many monkeys around. Little baby-monkeys are adorable and cute, they are not aggressive and sometimes can play with visitors. You can bring bananas to feed animals. Look careful after sunglasses, phones, hats and other stuff.
