Oeschinen Lake Reviews
Lago alpino straordinario. Ci si arriva dalla funivia a monte che si prende da Kandersteg dopo una facile camminata di circa 15 minuti. You get there from the cable car upstream that you take from Kandersteg after an easy walk of about 15 minutes. The same route from the village centre of Kandersteg to the cable car downstream is extraordinary. surrounded by the mountains of the Bernese Oberland in a majestic scenery. Beautiful ancient church that meets along the way. Lake Oeschinen is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Swiss Alps. It is possible to stay overnight in a hotel-shelter on its banks. Very pleasant to walk around and observe here and there the wooden sculptures carved by very capable artists. The visit to the lake is possible all year round (check for any interruptions of the cable car) and in winter there is a sledding track for experienced "descendants". Kandersteg is a very nice alpine village, with various accommodation options for all pockets and different itineraries such as the one that leads to the Blausee or the crossing Sunbuel - Gemmi (Canton Bern --> Canton Valais). Reachable from Milan by car (also with rail transport for cars) and railway in a short time and this makes the visit to Lake Oeschinen feasible even in the day. Highly recommended!!
Sono arrivato in auto nella cittadina di Kandersteg, dove, ai piedi della cabinovia c'è un ampio parcheggio (a pagamento), qua è possibile acquistare il biglietto per salire la con fermata a soli 30 mi... more »I arrived by car in the small town of Kandersteg, where, at the foot of the gondola there is ample parking (for a fee), here you can buy the ticket to climb the with stop just 30 minutes walk from the lake (a single ride costs about 30 francs). Personally I preferred to go up with the gondola and walk down. The route from stop to lake is nestled among firs, alpine stars and pastures, berries and whatnot. The view in front of the end of the trail is truly spectacular, the lake is surrounded by the "small alps" which feed the streams that flow into the lake. The meadows housed many grazing animals (mostly sheep and cows) absolutely not dangerous or annoying. The colourof water has literally haunted me. It is possible to rent small rowing boats or simply bathe since in summer the water is not cold. There is the possibility to climb to a shelter/farmhouse by means of a path not accessible to everyone (from the lake it takes a few hours of walking). In both summer and winter you can use the 3.5km long sledding track that comes from the lake to the city. Many other possible activities: mountain bike descent, rowing or just walking. The lake is part of the UNESCO Heritage area.
Super beautiful lake. One of my most favourite places in Swiss.
Amazing place. We walk for about 5 kilometers from Kendersteg to the lake. It’s a difficult and memorable experience but we came back using the cable car.
