Located in the popular holiday region of Ticino, Lugano is the largest Italian-speaking town in Switzerland.

Get out of town with these interesting Lugano side-trips: Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo (in Ascona), Valle Verzasca (in Lavertezzo) and Bellinzona (Castelgrande & Castelli di Bellinzona). Zurich to Lugano is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also fly; or take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Wed) to allow time to drive to Interlaken.

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.

You can drive from Lugano to Interlaken in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Lugano in June; daily highs in Interlaken reach 72°F and lows reach 53°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Lucerne.

In north-central Switzerland, Lucerne represents a small city boasting a well-preserved old town.

When in Lucerne, make a side trip to see Titlis in Engelberg, approximately Engelberg away. Drive from Interlaken to Lucerne in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 74°F in June, and nighttime lows around 56°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) so you can drive to Zurich.

Start off your visit on the 29th (Tue): take some stellar pictures from Baumli, admire the sheer force of Rhine Falls, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Zurich. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get a taste of the local shopping with Bahnhofstrasse, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Fraumünster Church, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Grossmunster, and finally wander the streets of Old Town.
