Getting from Barcelona to Rome by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. Traveling from Barcelona in August, you will find days in Rome are a bit warmer (90°F), and nights are about the same (69°F). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sat) so you can travel to Milan.
