Sorrento is connected to Naples by the convenient Circumvesuviana rail network, which makes it an ideal base for touring popular regional sites like Pompeii and Herculaneum. Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Limoncello, a popular lemon liqueur, the city is known for its wine, olives, and nuts.
